Kisses in the Train – D H Lawrence

I saw the midlands
Revolve through her hair;
The fields of autumn
Stretching bare,
And sheep on the pasture
Tossed back in a scare.

And still as ever
The world went round,
My mouth on her pulsing
Neck was found,
And my breast to her beating
Breast was bound.

But my heart at the centre
Of all, in a swound
Was still as a pivot,
As all the ground
On its prowling orbit
Shifted round.

And still in my nostrils
The scent of her flesh,
And still my wet mouth
Sought her afresh;
And still one pulse
Through the world did thresh.

And the world all whirling
Around in joy
Like the dance of a dervish
Did destroy
My sense–and my reason
Spun like a toy.

But firm at the centre
My heart was found;
Her own to my perfect
Heart-beat bound,
Like a magnet’s keeper
Closing the round.

Entanglement

Beloved

Beloved,

Come taste my rapturous tongue

Dip into the elixir that is my love.

Together let us embrace the light of the moon

and let her tendrils turn our tides.

I felt you in the touch of eternities dawning

I feel you now

As your heart moves with love

Mine reciprocates

As your mind stirs

Mine echoes your thoughts.

Beloved,

Come taste my rapturous tongue

and dip into the elixir that is my love.

Muted

A_New_Days_Beginning_by_Solkku

The sea it called to me today. Beneath somber sky, layers of grey, my blue eyes muted, I watched. The waves rolled in, empty horizon filled with sorrow as I gazed waiting for ship that will not come. Those days are gone, my gods replaced, this world has changed. Empirical thought separates, souls are emptied and eyes flattened, consumed by greed. Yet there is sun ever shining above darkened clouds, souls still hunger for love and knowledge of living. Fire still burns within many to seek far beyond material offerings. The sea it called to me today and sweet melancholy found my heart aching to close the gap between oceans of time, that I could be home once again. Yet home is within and contentment can be gained knowing that there is much love in this world to be given and found. I will wait for the ship that will surely come.

Argentine Tango

A dance of seduction and skill…

Not for the faint of heart. Many people over the years have said to me: “Why tango? Salsa is fun, swing is fun, everyone dancing tango look so ‘serious’.” That’s because Argentine Tango is a serious dance, like a game of chess, a debate or a competition fight in martial arts, tango is vital, improvised and in the moment with your partner. The sublime connection of two souls each versed in their craft, one leading the other submitting, yet through her submission she provides her own flavour and suggestion to the dance. The clip above captures parts of the seeking of connection, the couple do not usually dance together so their dance demonstrates improvisation between newly met dancers (it has also been edited to be more like a music video). The same dancer Juana Sepulveda (goddess) with her more (in)famous dance partner Mariano ‘Chicho’ Frumboli dancing in the below clip … (purist note: both of these clips are dancing to nuevo tango music or electronica tango rather than traditional tango musicá. I was blessed to have seen the below improvisation when it was performed live, the poem and music is from a traditional tango legend Rubén Juarez (in contemporary/nuevo form), the dance itself was breathtaking, tear evoking and stunningly beautiful.)

Lark

Image

Sunset, a skylark dances around my house. I’ve not seen her before; she is welcome visitor to my garden. Swooping with such grace and purpose, I know she hunts as she plays. Beauty in her silent dives that gather food to her wings. Elegance in her weaving nearly touching my head, she warbles a sweet farewell. Her gift of calm saturates me as I glide into evening.
